Services – Risk Assessment
Risk assessment is a process used in any industry that helps identify hazards, evaluate the risks associated with those hazards, and determine measures to eliminate or control them. Here at ISE Europe GmbH, we conduct a type of risk analysis that is specific to the product’s application. Such a risk assessment is primarily concerned with the interaction between humans and machines or devices and aims to determine the potential dangers to a person with regard to the specific product. Such a process is critical in the pursuit to protect anyone, who comes in contact with your product, as well as to comply with the law. The goal of our risk assessment process is to ensure that products entering the market are safe and easy to use, liable and are accompanied by appropriate safety instructions.
Risk Assessment and Risk Reduction
To reduce risks as well as potential dangers and hazards, we follow a proven risk assessment procedure, again taking into account EU Directives and international standards and comply with the relevant regulations. This risk assessment procedure includes the compilation of information into a list of dangers and hazards (brainstorming), a summary of hazards, a hazard catalogue, as well as a risk profile for the particular product. These four steps produce a detailed product risk overview, which forms the basis for the reduction of these same risks through measures and safety instructions that need to be implemented in order to improve the safety of the product and the processes surrounding it.
Risk Assessment and Compliance
As mentioned before, we use the appropriate standards and EU Directives as the basis of each risk assessment to ensure compliance with any legal as well as customer requirements. For the USA and Canada, we especially focus on the compliance of instruction manuals with ANSI standards, the legal assessment of manuals with regard to hazard levels, the definition of warnings, instructions, and pictorial representation, and product liability. Internationally, we apply all valid ISO/IEC standards and EU Directives to product safety. We are aware of any country deviations and will include those in our risk assessment, for example Chinese GB standards.
